We all know how difficult it is to find right information when you are traveling to other country and you would like to do some fishing there. Surely, you will find webpages or see adds, that claim that the fishing is outstanding, best in the world. Then you go there, book a guide and the harsh reality starts to sink in. No trophy trout, planes flying just above your head and some local guys using baits just meters from your guide's "secret place". Does that sound familiar? It surely does to me.

The key idea of FISHFINDER is to save you from the above. By using FISHFINDER, you should be able to select your destination based on the criteria you find most important. To some, the possibility of landing some big fish is the single most important factor when they plan their fishing trip in Finland. To others, the scenery will be the number one. Some of us, want to go after certain species and so on and so worth.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TOOL
When you open the FISHFINDER webpage, you can first have a short introduction to main game fish species we have in Finland. Then you can find out some info about the six main administrative districts. Next you can locate the town where you are staying (district level). This feature is useful, for example if you know the name of the town you are staying in but not its geographical position.

After that you can start zooming in to the possibilities you have. First you choose what fish species you would like to catch, then you select the district where you are staying and then finally what time of the year you will be in Finland. Once you have selected these parameters, FISHFINDER will list the possibilities. You can go through them and learn more about them: what kind of water, what tackle to use, price of the guide and all that stuff.
