Scotland is hosting the 29th FIPS-Mouche World Fly Fishing Championships. The venues for the championships are the Lake of Menteith, Loch Leven, Loch Awe, Carron valley and the River Tay. The championships will be run from the 5th until 12th June 2009.

About World Fly Fishing Championships
World Championships in fly fishing have been organized since 1981 by international organization called FIPS-Mouche. Finland has participated in the World Championships since year 1985 (see history). Finnish team is currently selected partly based on the success in the previous World Champs and partly based on the top placing in the National Finals. The responsible organization is the Finnish Federation for Recreational Fishing.
